Chronic back and neck pain is often the result of underlying health issues. At In-Line Wellness Center, we identify the root causes of your pain first before determining the best treatment. As chiropractic care is the science and art which utilizes the inherent recuperative powers of the body, it is the perfect holistic treatment for a person's entire body.
Spinal problems create physical interference to the nervous system. Since the spinal column is the conduit for every nerve in the body, proper alignment means that the messages and signals sent out to every cell, organ and muscle are clean and crisp. The result of clear messaging is proper functioning and restoration of your ultimate wellness. Your physical condition and lifestyle are examined and lifestyle recommendations (i.e. diet, posture, exercise, and stress management) are made to correct the problems that are the cause of chronic pain.
Massage is a wonderful way to relax and experience feelings of well-being, through the healing power of touch. Improved circulation, elimination of toxins, the easing of aches, pain and stiffness, and improved flexibility are just a few of the supporting benefits that increase overall wellness. With massage, you will experience greater relaxation, better digestion, posture and more restful sleep.
A wide range of massage styles are available to help with tight, stiff, sore and aching muscles. Massage techniques range from light touch to deep tissue muscle work. Our In-Line Wellness Massage Therapists are able to recommend styles which are most appropriate for each patient.
• Myofascial Release Trigger Point Therapy
Derived from the Latin words "myo" - meaning muscle, and "fascia" - for band; myofascial release therapy, trigger point therapy or acupressure as some patients call it, will release tension from the fibrous bands of connecting tissue (fascia). Myofascial release therapy aims to free constrictions, spasms or blockages in the muscle tissue and fascia, thereby alleviating restriction and restoring mobility. The doctor uses myofascial release therapy to help individuals with poor posture, physical injury, illness and emotional stress.
Using this therapy, disruptions in normal mobility are freed and tension on bones, muscles, joints and nerves is relieved. Ultimately, myofascial release restores mobility, range of motion and balance back to the body. Myofascial release therapy utilizes gentle, kneading manipulation and pressures that stretch, soften, lengthen and relax tissue. After careful observation of one's posture, the doctor then feels for stressed areas of the body.
When restricted areas are found, he uses pressures and stretches tissues found along the direction of the muscle fibers. This stretch is held for a couple of minutes until a softening or release is felt. These stretches are repeated until the tension is felt no more. In addition myofascial release therapy can be used to treat back pain; help persons suffering from frozen shoulder, fibromyalgia, headaches, chronic fatigue syndrome, menstrual problems, tennis or golfer's elbow, shin splints, sprains, rheumatoid arthritis, muscle spasms, whiplash injuries and carpal tunnel syndrome. Furthermore, myofascial release can be administered to children suffering from falls, injuries and scoliosis as well.
• Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. The massage therapist uses slower strokes or friction techniques across the grain of the muscle. Deep tissue massage is used for chronically tight or painful muscles, repetitive strain, postural problems, or recovery from injury.
Everything about our lifestyle has an effect on the functioning of your body. It is widely accepted that nutrition plays a significant role in maintaining balanced health and preventing disease. At In-Line Wellness Center our doctors look at the person as a whole, investigating and recommending the foods, water consumption, vitamins and supplements that are essential to optimal health. Patients are educated on the lifestyle changes needed to achieve overall health and wellness.
One of the primary ways to achieve optimal health is efficient exercise. In order to determine the right exercise program, we evaluate the patient's age, condition, physical limitation and motivational levels.
Our personal trainers and on-site fitness center provide a wonderful environment for you to meet your goals. Many of us need the accountability and motivation not only get started, but to continue and insure that exercise remains a part of their life. At In-Line Wellness Center, we provide both.
• Corrective Exercises
It is essential to have strength and flexibility in certain muscle groups in order to stabilize the spine and keep it in proper alignment. We treat our patients with special exercises to help strengthen and correct their own unique problem as well as achieve proper posture. In addition to skeletal misalignment, muscles and connective tissues can be out of place or strained by improper alignment and use. Specific exercises and stretches can help your body stay in balance and in health.
It has been known for centuries that meditation is a safe and simple way to balance a person's physical, emotional, and mental state. Meditation is key to stress relief, freeing the body of the negative energy and thoughts that can diminish your ultimate well-being.
Meditation replaces negative energy with positive thoughts, opening you up to calm and clear awareness of your life. In-Line Wellness Center's approach to include meditation as a part your overall wellness program reinforces our philosophy of focusing on health, not sickness.
Our customized meditation program is easily learned and employed not only as an aid to treating stress and pain management, but also as part of an overall treatment for other conditions, such as hypertension and heart disease. Meditation can also be used in the treatment of addictive behaviors, such as drug, nicotine and alcohol use; anxiety and depression; and menopausal symptoms.
Cold Laser Therapy
Cold Laser Therapy has emerged as the therapeutic modality in the healing arts community. In-Line Wellness Center recognizes the remarkable biological effects of Cold Laser Therapy which has been shown to significantly accelerate and enhance the body's natural defense and repair abilities when injured.
When the body has an injury, the cells are damaged and fail to function within normal parameters. Safe, low level lasers work by restoring abnormal cellular function, using a non-heat producing light laser, locked at a specific wavelength that is optimal for deep tissue penetration.
By reducing the duration of inflammation as well as enhancing specific repair and healing process, Cold Laser Therapy enables the body to heal more rapidly, provides pain relief, and reduces damage due to injury and loss of function.
LASER THERAPY IS USEFUL FOR THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:
- chronic or acute pain
- disc herniations
- carpal tunnel syndrome
- scar tissue
- frozen shoulder
In keeping with our philosophy, In-Line Wellness Center has added detoxification as a modality to treat root cause issues rather than symptoms. Since your body is only as healthy as your cells, true detox must occur at the cellular level. Our focus is always on removing anything interfering with the body's innate ability to function and heal.
Simply, detoxification removes potentially toxic substances from the body. Although detox is primarily thought of as a treatment for alcohol or drug dependence, the term is also used to refer to diets, herbs, and other methods of removing environmental and dietary toxins from the body for general health.
Since all function and healing ultimately come from the nervous system, we focus our detoxification programs primarily on neurotoxicity. Just as spinal problems create physical interference to the nervous system, neurotoxins cause chemical interference at the level of the cells and the brain, creating widespread problems with hormone regulation and inflammation.
The two most common and problematic categories of toxins are biotoxins (mold, lyme) and heavy metals (mercury, lead). Detoxification protocols are often done incorrectly and unsafely, and many do nothing at all. In-Line Wellness Center's detoxification specialists are trained to employ the best and safest practices for you. Constantly educating ourselves and our patients is key to the effectiveness detoxification therapy.
